We are Mary and John van Geffen, Dutch in France, entrepreneurial-55s and owners of B & B “Les Hirondelles”. The house is in our possession since July 2010, Maison de Maitre in the town of Dommartin-le-Saint-Père region Grand Est, Haute Marne, France.
Our B & B we run in the nearly 200 year old house which has been adapted to the standards of the times while retaining character and typical French atmosphere.
The name “les Hirondelles” means “the swallows” and refers to the many generations swallows born in barns and outbuildings and raised.
The b & b is located in the valley of the River Blaise, about 120 km in Reims where famous Champagne houses are located. Dommartin-le-Saint-Père is a typical northern French village with about 270 inhabitants in a peaceful rural woodland setting where you can hike and bike in the vicinity of major tourist lakes.
Since January 1, 2016 are regions which merged into France Alsace-Lorraine-Champagne Ardennes has become one of the largest of the 18 regions of France: Grand Est.
In the northeast of France, bordered by Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
Department Haute Marne is one of the 10 departments of the administrative regions.
